A Cincinnati pizzeria that started as a food truck before opening inside of a craft brewery has opened its first standalone location.

Catch-a-Fire Pizza opened its downtown Blue Ash location at 9290 Kenwood Road for carryout and delivery on July 13. A spokeswoman for the restaurant said in-person dining and an official grand opening are planned in the coming weeks.

Catch-a-Fire specializes in wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizzas with creative toppings. It was started by Jeff and Melissa Ledford as a food truck in 2013 before opening its first cafe inside of Oakley's MadTree Brewing in 2015. Catch-a-Fire has plans for a third brick-and-mortar location in Lebanon as early as spring 2021.

  • Buffalo Soldier, with buffalo sauce, chicken, red onion, mozzarella, provolone, asiago, romano, gorgonzola, celery and ranch

The Blue Ash Catch-a-Fire would have seating for about 90 indoors an another 85 outdoors under ideal conditions, but that will be subject to Ohio's coronavirus restrictions requiring six feet of distance between tables, or separation by a physical barrier. The pizzeria offers curbside carryout.

The space was designed by Mark Dierkers Architecture, decorated by Amy Youngblood Interiors, and Martin & Son Contractors Inc. served as the general contractor.

Catch-a-Fire Blue Ash is open 11 a.m-9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
