MAKING THE BREWHAUS DOG TREAT

Their treats are handcrafted with four natural wholesome, nutritious ingredients: spent brewery grains (barley malt), all natural peanut butter, brown rice flour (made from the whole rice grain, healthier, for ease of digestion and lower allergen risk) and eggs. Their eggs and, of course, their spent brewery grains are locally sourced. In fact, their grains are picked up on brewing days to ensure the highest freshness and quality. Brewhaus Bakery Co. coordinates with their brewing partners to get grains right from the mash tun which are the main ingredient in their unique dog treats! Spent grains retain approximately 75% of their nutritional value and are high in protein, fiber and contain many micronutrients beneficial for our fur friends.

Eggs for the Brewhaus program are sourced locally too. Their Brewhaus farm friends in New Richmond, OH (east of Cincinnati) have a lovely flock supply eggs in a rainbow of colors for their unique treats . Hens are cage and cruelty free, and roam free to forage for insects and other yummy morsels in the soil, and are fed a natural, pesticide free diet. Egg production is based on three main factors: the breed of chicken (which also affects shell color), age, and season. Typically, a young healthy chicken will lay an egg about once a day; variation is based on natural light and season. Hens lay more in the summer, less in winter.

All natural peanut butter and brown rice flour are then added to the mix. Treats are shaped by hand and slow baked. Once out of the oven, you have a tasty treat for your dog! They never use any artificial flavorings, preservatives or additives in any of  their dog treats.

Each purchase of their dog treats provides support for their vocational training and employment program for young adults with disabilities. All proceeds return to their program to help it grow; they have no administrative costs or deductions.

People have even tried their treats but they have to tell you, they’re just for dogs!
