Catch-a-Fire Pizza Pledges 1% of All Sales to Environmental Causes

Cincinnati, OH - April 8, 2022 - Catch-a-Fire Pizza serves the best wood-fired pizza in Cincinnati and they have now joined 1% for the Planet, pledging to donate 1% of annual sales to support nonprofit organizations focused on the environment.

“Our Catch-a-Fire team cares about our environment and we are all excited to be making an impact, not only in Cincinnati but with a greater ripple effect towards protecting our planet. From prioritizing sustainable partners to composting and recycling, we are committed to making our company more sustainable!" said Melissa Ledford, co-owner of Catch-a-Fire Pizza.

Catch-a-Fire Pizza is committed to improving the environment, strengthening community ties, and changing how we think about food waste. They are partnered with Go Zero for daily composting in both locations. They also mindfully curated the Catch-a-Fire Pizza menus to be able to work with local/sustainable partners including MadTree, 80 Acres Farms, Tuba Baking Company, Smoking Goose, Glier's Goetta, Urban Stead Cheese, The BE Hive, Crazy Acres Market Farm, Free bird chicken, Running Creek Farm, and the Shroomery.

"Currently, only 3% of total philanthropy goes to the environment and, only 5% of that comes from businesses. The planet needs bigger support than this, and our growing network of business members is doing its valuable part to increase giving and support on-the-ground outcomes. We're excited to welcome Catch-a-Fire Pizza to our global movement," says Kate Williams, CEO of 1% for the Planet.

By contributing 1% of their annual sales, thousands of 1% for the Planet members have raised over $300 million to support approved environmental nonprofits around the globe. These nonprofits are approved based on referrals, track record and a grassroots, environmental focus. Thousands of nonprofits worldwide are currently approved.

To kick-off their 1% for the Planet pledge, Catch-a-Fire Pizza is planning a week of environmental activities and friendly challenges in April for their staff, family members and guests. Activities include volunteering in the Oakley Community Cleanup on April 16th from 9:00-11:00 AM, social media contests like posting pictures using recyclable totes, carpooling, walking to work, and more.
