Catch-a-Fire Pizza: Experience

What is Experience?

The pizza principle experience is about creating a memorable and positive moment for staff and guests. At Catch-a-Fire, our aim is to provide a unique and welcoming visit for every guest, every time.

Collaborative Effort

Providing guests with an outstanding experience is an exciting opportunity. It's a collaborative effort from everyone on our team.

A guest’s experience starts the second they walk in the door and meet the Host with a welcoming greeting and attitude. It continues on through a server’s informative, friendly attitude, and finishes with our top notch artisan cuisine and beverage selection.

Attention to Detail & Guest Focused

When you first arrive, there are many things that you should think about when you begin to interact with coworkers and guests:

  • How can I best predict and accommodate a guest’s needs?

Anticipation, attention to detail and being attentive. These will provide seamless service!

  • How can I improve in being able to provide an outstanding dining experience that will make our guests want to come back?

Be guest focused and guide the experience for our guests. This means genuinely talking to our guests and engaging them!

  • How can I share my knowledge of food and beverage to coworkers and guests who may have questions?

Talk about what you love most, your favorite menu items. Share what makes our food stand out!

Team, Knowledge & Skills

But what about creating a memorable experience for staff? What does that mean and how can we accomplish that goal? The interaction among our staff is just as important as the interaction between our staff and our guests. The way we relate to each other as co-workers has a huge impact on our guest experience and the way we respond to our customers.

We all know that supporting each other and working as a team improves our work experience. How is your experience when you have a co-worker who is not being a team player or not supporting the team? It makes your day so much more difficult than it needs to be.

How to Improve Work Experience?

The most important part of working as a team is communication. We must be able to relate to each other.

Communication

Here are some important things to think about in regards to communication.

How You Say It

It is not always what you say, but HOW you say it. Are you communicating clearly so that your words aren’t misunderstood?

Active Listening

Use your active listening skills. Are you really hearing what your co-worker is telling you, or are you just intent on getting your own point across? Have a genuine interest in what your co-worker is trying to say. Really listen to them. How do you like people to communicate with you? We all have those moments when stress could influence our communication, but don’t use that as an excuse! Take a deep breath, be honest with yourself about how you are handling your stress—DO NOT take it out on your co-workers!

Respect

Communication is not the only key to having good relationships at work. The other important aspect of working as a team is RESPECT. Be the kind of co-worker you want to work with. Be respectful to your coworkers and give them the benefit of the doubt. We know most employees WANT to do a good job and care about their co-workers. You need to assume your co-workers are doing their best. If there is information an employee doesn’t have, share that information with them. But share it in a constructive and respectful way. DO NOT be condescending or talk down to them. Share your knowledge in the spirit of helping each other with Unity and Positivity in mind. Remember, we are all on the same team! Let’s make sure we look and act like the awesome Catch-a-Fire TEAM that we truly are!!
