Catch-a-Fire Pizza: Passion

What is Passion?

The pizza principle passion means “a strong enthusiasm to improve in every endeavor”. Being passionate means holding yourself to a higher standard; both in your work and in your personal life. Your passion for your job can help motivate others around you, and when you are passionate, people notice!

Energy & Positivity

People see that you have an energy and a positivity that comes from being motivated to excel! Your co-workers will look up to you and want to model themselves after you.

Enthusiasm

Your enthusiasm and passion for your job and life in general will increase your self esteem and job satisfaction.

Love What You Do

A quote from Steve Jobs, “The one way to do great work is to love what you do”.

There is a tremendous amount of passion for our company and what we do at all of our locations, and it shows.

How can I demonstrate passion in my work?

Develop a Sense of Purpose

Identify the ways that the work you do directly impacts the operation. The tasks that team members perform day-to-day are extremely important and contribute to the whole operation - understanding that fact can strengthen an employee’s passion.

Encourage Growth

those who understand the importance of passion will be able to allow themselves and others the time and tools needed to learn, grow and acquire new skills. Using every work day as a building block to improve, a team member will then have a strong foundation for the next skill they will learn. Passionate team members will also aid others with concepts that they might be struggling with.

Creating Connections

establishing professional relationships with other team members and guests is also a large component in demonstrating passion. The ability to collaborate and empower those around you in the operation goes a long way in motivating yourself and others.

Burning Flame

Think of passion as a burning flame. Putting all your effort into your work is like stoking the flame, like adding kindling to keep it burning bright and strong. When you have that passion “flame”, it also shines outward like a bright light, and is visible to others. Coworkers and guests of the restaurant will see it, and they will recognize the passion you have for your craft.
